Forgotten Stories from small town pennsylvania

Book Of snippets

An inherited old book of newspaper clippings of obituaries and celebrations dating back to the early 1900's

Sharing Each Story before it disappears forever

My grandfather and I used to sit together and flip through this thick old dictionary, where someone had carefully glued newspaper obituaries and life announcements from Northeast Pennsylvania.
Some are haunting. Some are oddly poetic. Many feature last names that still live in the towns around me today.
The clippings are from the early 1900s, and the pages are starting to fade.
I’m sharing each one before they are forgotten

Hi, my name is Paulette Brown. I am a NEPA Photographer and creative with a soft spot for the strange and forgotten.
You'll be with me as I turn each page.

you might even recognize a last name or find a story from someone in your own family tree.
